Anyway, for some reason I looked up Michael Bay's imdb profile, and there was a thread where people were saying that you MUST acknowledge his movies as good, because the only objective measure of movie quality was box office return.
It'd be interesting if people actually bought into that and then took it as far as it could be taken.
If that was true, how would you know what movies to see? You wouldn't base it on previews. You sure as hell wouldn't base it on word of mouth or reviews, which are "demon subjective". (I'm imagining that being said like "demon rum".) You would only know if a movie was good after it racked up a high box office total. So, you could watch a movie on opening night and yet have no idea if it's good or bad until the numbers come in next week.
Except, actually, you wouldn't even be in the theater, because until the movie earns a lot of money, it hasn't been proven as good, so why see it? And if everyone agrees with you, then no one would ever see any movie!
