They may have over 6 million registered names, but certainly not that many people actually using the site. And some are probably alt accounts. Damn. I can't get to StumbleUpon from here. Must be considered the same type of site as Digg and Slashdot to the system administrators.

I was expecting a lot more than this site can and ever will offer. What the fuck? This says absolutely nothing about anything. Worthless one-sentence vapid review is right. It's too bad, because I like "Web 1.0" sites created by individuals more than the new, slick, "professional" sites (eg., Cracked, Somethingawful), but the problem with those old sites is that they were a problem to promote (the webmasters didn't have enough resources) and couldn't be updated as often as something professional with multiple writers. So, a hub or portal of Web 1.0 sites seems like a solution to those problems. ...except that the users still have Web 2.0 mentalities. 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8

They involve animals getting raped and a picture of a stuffed Mickey Mouse hanging himself - a type of joke that was old 10 years ago. Not only that, but I didn't notice a single videogame site in his favorites, so why is he posting on a videogame site's comments? Get out of my cheese, get into my corn!

Several days after I started this post and said that site was for "vapid teenagers with generic anime avatars", he changed his avatar to (presumably) a picture of himself (before it was a generic anime girl), and he changed his age in his profile to 21. I think it was 16 or 18 before. Oh, something I forgot to warn you about StumbleUpon (and is another reason they suck) - as soon as you register, your state becomes visible in your profile - EVEN THOUGH you don't even tell them what it is when you sign up. So they ping your IP and make your private information public without consent and without telling you ahead of time that they will - one of the worst NO-NO's any site on the internet can commit. The worst part is that it's not immediately obvious, and their design is so atrocious, it's difficult to figure out HOW to change your profile information. If you don't want people knowing your state, you'll have to figure out how to change it. Also, I would be wary of downloading their ~~spyware~~ toolbar. I've seen people shut down their sites or stop updating because they felt they said all they could about their subject. Notice that other fansites that continue to thrive, like TheAlmightyGuru and Random Hoo-Haas, also do not limit their content.
