The basic idea of this site is for typically vapid teenagers with generic anime avatars to review websites they've just barely read or can understand with one-to-two sentence internet cliches. Places like this make ReviewPlanet look intelligent. If it wasn't for the fact that I'm way too old to be doing this type of thing, I'd seriously think about terrorizing that place, "N-Sider" style. Not like it would be too hard. |

I would just tear it a new one with the RAU Gallery. Pranking can be fun, but I'd rather see a new sketch.

Oh, pages of my site have been bounced around that place off and on. The thing that I hate about it is how they tout their stupid one-liners to be "reviews". I wonder how far Roger Ebert would have gotten in his career if all of his reviews were, "This movie is win!", "This movie is fail!"? I think an RAU sketch attacking the place head-on would be a really good idea. It's a pretty faceless corporate website and it's full of people who
you know will vanish from the internet in a few years or less, so who cares what they think.

Another thing about StumbleUpon is that it's completely unnavigable. Seriously, I signed up so I could make some comments there and the design is like the
website equivalent of a 14-car pileup. The only way I'm ever able to find anything on it is when someone links to my site and the link appears in the
sitetracker. Usually when I click those links I'm taken to a page that says, "Your site is under category ____", but then I look under that
category and I don't see it anywhere.

The problem it's just gross understatement for you to say your reviews are better than StumbleUpon's. I mean, duh.
Another problem with StumbleUpon is that their name gives me the impression that their users are incredibly clumsy. Shouldn't we be familiar with that? You could go with something like that for the title bar: "It's like StumbleUpon, but even clumsier (and not stupid)."

Just make sure that if you guys decide to prank the place, instead of planning such an ordeal in a private forum as we may have done years ago, that you post
about it on a highly-visible public forum and post clickable links that leave marks in a site tracker. Also, make you sure you blow your cover by fully
admitting to it in the topic.

In all seriousness, it's not going to matter for a site like StumbleUpon. Users can't tell where hits are coming from and I doubt the faceless CEOs go
through them either.

If a site gets 4 million users, or even 1 million users, you can bet that someone is going through their stats.
On the other hand, guess what? A community of like ~10 people, or even 278, isn't gonna have any impact on the stats that a site that gets a million users, much less on the site itself. |

I seriously doubt they'd care about a few people pranking the place enough to check through all the inbound links to see where they're coming from. The
worst is that they'd just ban our usernames.

The only thing similar to that I can recall since we left the Game Pond was when I got a bunch of you to post captions in the Seibertron.com caption contests, but that was a legitimate use of the site.
