Devilrays's quizzes suck |

I swear this guy couldn't post in a topic without going on and on about his elitist bullshit quizzes and how great the 2 or 3 people who could actually
participate in them are.

Oh, another thing I forgot to mention about Memory Lane:
I'm having a hard time getting around the Yuku ads. I used to be able to by looking at individual posts and fiddling around with the topic view settings, but it's too time consuming and it doesn't always work anymore. So, you might see posts in Memory Lane now that are squished over to the left or have a big white rectangle taken out of the right side. |

I remember one time he was complaining that not enough people were participating in his quizzes and everybody told him exactly that: They'd like to
participate, but they won't be able to answer the sports questions so they don't bother.
Then he said, "You can use your lifelines to get past those questions." Yeah, but #1, I think people are more interested in participating when they feel they have a chance to answer everything on their own. And #2, if the lifelines involve polling the audience or asking a friend, then only those same 2 or 3 people can answer, so once again, they get to participate. |

As much as I'd still find it annoying, it'd be one thing if he and his circle of friends just kept their quizzes to themselves. But when people ask
questions and his answers are like:
|

Crawl and 1OOO |
|||
|
But you still can't help but love him.

I've said this before, but I don't think he ever really intentionally meant to act elitist or hurt anyone's feelings. He was just incredibly
clueless. Remember how long it took him to accept that Crawl and I were in a relationship even after we both made it pretty damn obvious?
But dealing with him could be a real frustrating pain. I can manage to give myself a small headache just thinking about it. |

I know that some of it is cluelessness, but not all of it. He could be really pushy with the admins sometimes. I remember that within his first few posts on
the board, he announced that he made Kiera an admin at his board (which had hardly any members or posts yet) and that he expected her to make him an admin at
the Game Pond in return. Then he went on about all the changes he was going to make to the place. He said he was going to redesign it, make someone (I
don't remember who) a mod, and ban certain users.
But dealing with him could be a real frustrating pain. I can manage to give myself a small headache just thinking about it.Yeah, he'd fly into a self-depreciating emo rage and "leave the board forever" if you tried explaining anything to him, no matter how inoffensively. Then he'd run off to some other board and come back going on about how great everyone there is. |

Also, I'd like to mention that he never really posted at my board much at all, but when Dark Knight2 bombed it and Kairobi King cleaned up the mess,
Devilrays showed up out of completely nowhere to accuse Kairobi of lying and defend Dark Knight2 like he was his personal bodyguard. When I told him that I
trusted Kai to be telling the truth more than Dark Knight2, he went into one of his emo-rages and disappeared from both my place and the Game Pond for a really
long time. Then he came back later and said he had this long list of reasons to believe that "James hates me" and he said he was going to post it but
never did.
Apparently, it turned out, that DR and DK2 were both moderators at the Bah Bah Blacksheep board. |

The worst thing I can remember happening was the time I caught him at Bugforest's board bashing Magnus Crowe because of that "Your cat is fat"
incident. It was very surreal because he was trying to defend the "good name" of the Game Pond on that board, and he was using Magnus as an example
of a bad user who doesn't represent the entire crowd and said that if he was in charge, he would ban him. I set the record straight and he got pretty upset
with me for it.
But it made me wonder how many other Game Pond people he may have smeared like that... On the other hand, though, some people seem to get as offended by telling them their cat is fat as they would if you said they themselves were fat... |

But it made me wonder how many other Game Pond people he may have smeared like that... That board was basically the "Whine about the Game Pond person/people you hate the most board", so even if Drays didn't smear anyone else, I'm sure other members of the clientele and administration did. Maybe that's where Thawhidol got the idea that Magnus and Kairobi were trolling VI from. Where can I find...a bagel? |

I set the record straight and he got pretty upset with me for it.Oh trust me, he did it to me and DH quite a few times, too. DH may have somewhat deserved it because she used to get out-of-line with her teenage angst, but my crimes amounted to the Dark Knight2 incident described above and another one where Troy said he wanted a nonsensical forum where we were allowed to edit each other's posts all we want and Devilrays went all insane paranoid about it. I told him he was overreacting (which is the one case in which I can definitely say the accused party was), especially considering that I hadn't even taken up Troy's suggestion and even if I did, if he didn't like the idea, he didn't have to post in that forum. But he was acting like it would cause total nuclear forum meltdown and got mad at me and left (again). But it made me wonder how many other Game Pond people he may have smeared like that...Well, at the Bah Bah Blacksheep board, he hanged out with people who would spontaneously start Game Ponder bashing sprees, and he never had anything to say about it, but he would defend those people tooth and nail if someone called them on it. DH and I found posts where they were bashing us, FO, Kiera, BJ, CB007, Junus, Crawl, probably others I'm forgetting now, and when Kairobi (or maybe it was Junus, I don't quite remember) told D-rays that he wouldn't participate in his quizzes or go to his board because they were both full of those people, D-rays called him a liar and started on his "everyone hates me!" routine. While I'm far less tolerant of stupidity now than I was back then, I think I recall even back then getting really sick of D-rays pimping his quizzes constantly and going on about how great the people who were participating in them were, and I remember being glad that someone finally spoke up. All of this wouldn't be bothering me so much, except that Devilrays is now apparently on SlayerX's list of "people who are better than us and we should be ashamed that they don't post here anymore". |

That was just his sense of humor.
Remember that he doesn't really give a crap about Devilrays, though, he just knows that he's someone who used to post a lot and doesn't anymore, and he's saying stuff like that because that's always been his schtick. You said yourself that you once saw him tell Devilrays to "take his emo crap" to my board, so if we had anything to do with Drays leaving the community, he's just as guilty. Also, BBR was the forum that started the rumor that Kiera died in 9/11 and tried to say that I told them that. They were extremely cultish there. Devilrays had a very easily persuadable mind. I got ezboard to shut them down because they were attacking my email and guestbook for no reason and I found the topic that proved it. Idiots didn't know what a site tracker is, apparently. |

You said yourself that you once saw him tell Devilrays to "take his emo crap" to my board, so if we had anything to do with Drays leaving the community, he's just as guilty. Yeah, I know. I know. But I'd still think Devilrays's quizzes sucked and still be annoyed by some of his posts. In all fairness and honesty, though, when he's NOT talking about his quizzes or giving out misguided advice on love, he's usually pretty tolerable, and he doesn't quite pop up in as many problem topics as certain other names do. There are certain names (most of which are on the blacklist) for which about 90% or greater of their posts I cannot read without wanting to put my foot through the screen. You might tell me that I should just forget about doing this if it bothers me so badly, but there really is a lot of good stuff worth remembering, revisiting and archiving. Unfortunately, about 1 in 10 topics is a terrible one, and the closer you get to the end of the Game Pond's life, the more frequently the bad topics occur. Those bad topics are like a poison that builds up and I have to eventually spit it out so I can cleanse myself of it and move on. |

about 90% or greater of their posts I cannot read without wanting to put my foot through the screen.I think we're all lucky that the worst of my stuff was deleted by myself or others over the years. When you guys talk about this old stuff, I feel so out of the loop sometimes. Occasionally there's something I remember, but most of this stuff I guess I just ignored at the time or blocked out in the years that followed. |

The thing I hate about places like the Bah Bah Blacksheep (aside from the fact that they stole their real name from us and then bashed us constantly), is that
they purport to be "video game" boards, when they really aren't. When I briefly tried hosting ShnooQuizzes there (mainly done as an experiment
because I was trying to call Devilrays on his claim that the board was full of "geniuses"), they could only muster up maybe 2 or 3 answers to even
the easiest ones, whereas the Game Pond could provide hundreds.

Well, there was also that time at I asked at the BFMA what your favorite NES games are, and one person said Rescue Rangers and the rest either didn't
answer, said they never played an NES, or asked what an NES is.
