Some parents seem to have to so little in common and do practically nothing together for fun, that you have to wonder how they became involved in a relationship and eventually married to begin with.
That's exactly what my parents are like. When I think about myself and Crawl and how much we do together and all the things we talk about together, it makes it very hard for me to understand couples that are like that.
But then again, maybe if other people really are as unhappy about this donation thing as I am, and enough people would refuse to donate, then others would start refusing, too, and we could put an end to this. This was from a long, long time ago, but I don't think I ever mentioned - that is EXACTLY what happened. Eventually, people stopped donating money to these causes. There was one person who was relatively new to the company who was still giving money each time one came around (which was quite often due to the extremely high turnover rate the place had - even if you'd think it should reach a point when the amount of parents dropping dead should level off, they would lose people and hire new ones so much that more potential dead mommies and daddies were always on the horizon.) Anyway, eventually that person caught on to the fact that she was about the only one giving money away and that it would happen at least once a week and she said, "What is this money for? Am I paying for (the collector's) lunch every week, or what?"

Got Shnoo?
