And what is with that title? It's like that "Beloved of the God of Love" name that Kain pointed out earlier. I think when i get around to registering my own domain, I'll call it godsgifttothemalefigureperfection.com.

I know FO wants the subject to die, but I can't contain this one... Does anyone else but me find it ironic that a site with "truth" in the title
banned someone for telling it?

I'd have more to say about this whole Lizeth Marry ordeal if (A) I could actually get that forum to load (all I ever get is a blank screen that loads
forever and ever infinity) and (B) if I truly understood WHY you're interested in posting on a webcomics forum when it seems the general consensus around
here is that webcomics suck.
With that said, one thing I can add is that I wish you wouldn't allow a bunch of morons like those to stop you from making a webcomic if youwanted to, no more than you let the idiocy of places like GameFAQs stop you from writing game reviews. |

Junus, FO has made it clear many times that she has no interest in writing a webcomic. I think the point that sketch was trying to make wasn't
"I'm not making a webcomic because webcomics fans don't like me". The point was that being involved with videogames has forced her to deal
with the idiots in the videogame community (hence, the point of her showing all those posts where she made rebuttals to various idiot gamers), and that if she
got involved in webcomics, she'd be forced to deal with the idiots in the webcomics community, too. And as Lizeth Marry proves, they're even worse.
Speaking of which, I have some ideas for some more LM reviews... Maybe if I update that page, Google will recrawl it and fix the title. Last time I checked, it's still the old incorrect one. (My haste in putting up that page meant no disrespect to Kiera. Tyler is right. If only half the people on the internet could be more like her, I'd be satisfied.)

James, you hit the nail on the head. Thank you. I wish I could give you a hug.
and (B) if I truly understood WHY you're interested in posting on a webcomics forum when it seems the general consensus around here is that webcomics suck.Well, as I said before, Powerup Comics seemed like it was written by people who are aware of some of the problems with gamers and webcomics in general, so you'd think you might be able to see some common ground with them, but unfortunately that's never the case. It was the same deal with Alex earlier in the year. The stances he was taking against gamer stupidity made it seem like he might be someone I could get along with, but then he turned out to be just as dense as everyone else. That's why I said the Yahtzee thing didn't surprise me. It's like the latest internet fad/mentality is "I'll make a bold statement that goes against the mainstream, BUT I DON'T REALLY MEAN IT!!!" As much as I hate this phrase, it's a case of people wanting their cake and eating it, too. Apparently, it's too difficult for anyone to just be real anymore. But I'll always have you guys, and I was thinking the other day how extremely lucky I am for that. I don't know if I've ever seen any multi-admin site like this one not eventually degrade into a cesspool, and this one's been up for several years now with no problems. I know FO wants the subject to die,You guys have known me how many years now and you don't at all suspect I might have an ulterior motive for this?

Suggestion: Change the intro to the Lizeth Marry reviews so that it's written from his perspective.
You guys win the Gold Star for that Barack Obama/Game Informer parody. |

I honestly didn't get it...until I searched "bloop" at Port Saiid. That is almost too fucking funny.

I think it would be a great idea to just get rid of the part explaining who Lizeth Marry is (we have all agreed this is a fake name, right?) and make him out
to be the "Anthony R. Womble" of DHN. He can be an all-purpose-idiot used to parody all kinds of things. I mean, James has practically already done
that by throwing in the SlayerX and Game Informer stuff, too...
I also just realized something else... "Lizeth", who got mad over pictures he didn't believe were really FO, sounds an awful lot like "Eliza" as in Eliza Gauger, the person who saw pictures of FO and couldn't figure out she's a woman. Hmmm.... Where can I find...a bagel? |

I always thought the facial expressions thing had more to do with the RPG critic. He gave Skies of Arcadia an 11 because the characters had facial
expressions.

LOL @ Dramatic Prairie Dog!
Nixxy, Lizeth Marry is just a nobody. He got mad at FO for posting pictures on his message board even though that's what the topic was for. Kind of like that time those people on that Transformers board got mad at FO for posting the exact same pictures she found on their own website. Some people are just very kicked in the head, but that's why I don't bother with any message boards outside of the Port Saiid/DHN communities. "No one can withstand
the power of KAIN"

Was that the Transformers board moderated by a furry who would reply to posts with "*wags his tail*" and barking sounds and little else?

I thought the facial expressions thing had to do with that time Slayer said my sketches weren't any good because there were no facial expressions and
emoticons don't work. (Which is again like saying "Airplane! isn't funny becasue airplanes aren't funny".) That's what I thought that
line about ignoring any 100-post discussions was about - because I remember James said he was angry that we had several very long RAU discussions before that
topic and Slayer didn't once contribute anything to any of them, and he despises "hit and run" posting tactics. That line doesn't make as
much sense when applied to the RPG Critic.
Nixxy, who says we're having trouble? We're just doing what we've been doing since 1995 - having fun at internet morons' expense.
Oh my God, they found Tom.

Yeah, that was it. That just really pissed me off. It's not just the RAU discussions, but we've also had numerous webcomics discussions even before FO
started writing the RAU stuff and he never participated in any of them. Never once did he debate anything anyone said, and yet we're supposed to accept
that webcomics are superior forms of entertainment because of facial expressions?
I'm worried that lately I've been coming across as a nasty, hateful, anti-opinion person, but that's really not how I mean to be. I don't have a problem with someone liking webcomics or even if someone just didn't care for FO's brand of humor. But it aggravates me when a POSTER-OUTTA-NOWHERE completely ignores the values of the community like that. It's like that "willful ignorance" thing Crawl was talking about, or like someone declaring Tetris the greatest game ever 2 months after we had a long discussion explicitly detailing why we think it isn't. DB, I can do as FO suggested and rewrite the intro as though Lizeth himself wrote it, but I can't completely take out the explanation of who he is. Without the context of the photograph story, the jokes in some of the reviews (like the OOT and TMNT ones) won't make any sense. |

It still seems like you were angrier about that than I was. The reason I didn't bother to address that post was because I felt it was insignificant.
Also, (although Slayer isn't "new"), remember that it's sometimes easy to fall into that trap when you're new to a board. Yes, you should lurk a bit to learn the basic values of the community, but when I'm new to a board, I don't like being expected to read through all 10,000+ posts to see if something's been discussed before. When someone makes a topic asking for opinions, people can and will reply to them. You have to expect that a few won't be very well-thought-out or informed.
Oh my God, they found Tom.

I don't have a problem with someone liking webcomics or even if someone just didn't care for FO's brand of humor. I seriously believe that if someone could get through most RAU Gallery sketches without once laughing, then they wouldn't know humor if it hit them in
the head with a ten ton brick. I think that's another good reason to have ended the Cameos Database because I think it attracted a lot of what I refer to
as "infowhores" to the site - People who only want to read factual information and have no sense of humor, don't like reading opinions (unless
they agree with their own), and have a tendency to complain about and nitpick every little thing.
