A lot of times I can't get the Non-CSC Ezboards to load. It'll load about halfway, and then just stop dead. It really pisses me off!

I know what you mean! That's why I couldn't reply to BJ's post the other night, when I wanted to. I tried 5 times to load the thread, but it would just freeze, and I'd have to shut down the browser program to get out of it. Finally, I figured it must be a server problem, and gave up. >_<

It seems to happen to me a lot, too...makes it very difficult to visit many other ezboards. :(

Hmm...I've noticed that every now and then, this board just locks up halfway through loading, then after about 30 seconds, it goes on its merry way...It usually happens when actually submitting posts...hmmmm..

I had that problem at FO's board the other night. =(
From my work PC, gifs that are transparent aren't displayed correctly. The "transparent" area is usually a bright pink color...and sometimes the picture itself is the wrong color or it's too dark.

I don't seem to ever notice a difference in speed between the gold and regular boards. When ezboard is slow, it's slow everywhere.

It's been a lot better lately. But yeah, when it was being slow for me it was slow everywhere, not just the CSC boards or boards on one server. Everything was slow and if I got logged out, it took like five minutes to log back in.

I think a lot of big sites have been unreliable lately.
The search function on Roger Ebert's site sucks terribly. It's much better to just use google and add "ebert" to whatever you're searching for. And after that, you're best off using Google's cache, because often the pages on Ebert's site have trouble loading (and sometimes when the page seems to load, there's another loading message: "Please wait while the review you requested loads") The Onion gave me a lot of "too many users" errors the last time I looked at it. Well, the CSC on this board is gone apparently. And the ads are really aggressive. even with a pop-up blocker, I'm still getting quite a few.
Another problem I have with non-CSC boards is that they log me out more frequently. |

I have the ezsupporter still, but I logged out to see. The only thing here that adblock can't seem to help with is this huge space where an ad is supposed to go. Other than that, there's no ads getting through.

I see the normal ads, but no pop-ups with my blocker. You might need to update your pop-up blocker or get a different one (or possibly check to make sure you don't have it disabled).

FO's board is really really slow right now.
I don't get pop-up ads on Yuku boards at all, not even free ones like this one and Hobbes's board. So either Yuku doesn't have them or my browser blocks them all. There are still Google text ads in some posts, but those aren't that bad. I think the internet should just abandon pop-up ads. I can't imagine they're very effective considering that everyone hates them and people take great measures to avoid them. Where can I find...a bagel? |

The only ads I see on Yuku are sometimes in the first post of a thread or thread page and sometimes it's a text ad, sometimes flash, sometimes still
picture. It doesn't really bother me. It's hardly noticeable after awhile especially if you're used to the amount of ads other sites have.
