The game just isn't as good as a one-player game.

True, and my review acknowledges that, but one of the underlying themes in that review is that it not only was important for home console games to have a one-player mode, but to also have considerable effort be put into them. Video games would never have evolved if they didn't.

I always thought the shooting gallery mode of Air-Sea Battle was the best variation because of the random movement patterns of the targets and the fact that you could slide your gun left and right as well as aim the barrel up and down. It really made for some fiercely competitive two-player fun because you could invade each other's air space. The game just isn't as good as a one-player game.

Cliffjumper and Bluestreak would have been written out anyway because the toys were obsolete and they weren't the most popular characters (like Bumblebee and Grimlock, who endured even when the toys didn't), but he could have provided voices for new characters. That's what the old voice actors did, even when their old characters were written out.

Also, even if his characters didn't show up in the last few episodes of Season 2, those episodes were probably finished...

Well, it went on two more seasons without him, but not with his characters. You could say his characters would have been killed in the movie. Or you rebut that with, yeah, but they could have given him new characters.

The thing is, though, even season 2 went on a few more episodes after he left -- also without his characters.

Casey Kasem's agent denies that he left the show because of the Carbombya thing.

The thing is, though, the show didn't "just end" when he left. It went on for two more seasons without him.
